One More Tiger Youngsters do well at BEF Futurity 2011

Yearling At Arena UK

Epworth Equestrian, owner Cheryl Gibbons presented Scawcetts Tiger Two Sox in the Yearling Eventing Section gaining a First Premium and Highest Score.

Foals At Plumpton

Nutwood Stud with their impressive Nutwood Rock Tiger colt foal gaining a 'Higher First Premium' Highest Score of the section - sadly missing out on Elite as the judges commented he may be too relaxed to make an Advanced Event Horse - he got down and rolled in the sand at the end of his judging! Crystal Ball Anyone?

Our homebred filly foal Taylor Too Tyme gaining a First Premium in the Foal Eventing Section

23 July - Just received from Conanvet Ltd, Ardlair, Ross-shire 'I was impressed with the semen motility, this late in the season I have seen some poor quality semen from 'overworked' stallions - this sample had excellent long lasting motility - Thankyou' inseminating vet Mr D Swaffield.

Despite Tiger having almost finished one of his busiest seasons yet, this is a very encouraging letter to open!

And One More Tiger babies are out there 'doing their stuff',

Well done to Leigh Iliffe of the Nutwood Stud with her One More Tiger foal winning the Small Hunter Foal and taking Hunter Foal Champion at the recent Kent County Show.

Well done too, to Scawcetts Tiggerman, a One More Tiger 4 year old double prelim winner at Epworth EC dressage (12 June). His rider / owner Cheryl Gibbons 'I was chuffed to bits today  with 'Tigger' today, his attitude is amazing.'

At the South Eastern Welsh Pony and Cob Association Summer Show Taylor Tea Time won First in the Part-Bred foal class and went on to take the Part-Bred Youngstock Reserve Champion.

Taylor Tea Time arrived on 17th April to Water of Life. Hengwys Tywysog's first part-bred and a gorgeous filly foal.

Taylor Too Tyme arrived on 21st March to Mable. One stunning filly by Tiger.

The season is almost upon us and the boys are raring to go!
We have One More Tiger available with fresh, chilled or frozen semen.
Drumcross Spurs is available fresh or chilled.
Garrybawn Skylark is 26 this year and YES he is still fertile and looking forward to his new arrivals this year! He is only covering a very small number of mares so if you would like to use him book early.

For mares inseminated in 2010 we have introduced our 'Foaling Form', easily downloaded from our forms page. This will hopefully help us going forward with any contact detail changes and will help us to keep a record of our boys offspring. Please fill out and return form for any mare covered prior to this as feedback is always much appreciated.

We are delighted to welcome back our stud vet Simon Staempfli from the Arundel Vet Group, we are extremely fortunate to have working with us a vet of his calibre. He joined us for 2010 and we are looking forward to working with him again in 2011.

Simon grew up on a farm near Bern in Switzerland, where his family breeds dairy cattle and Warmblood horses.  After graduation from the Vetsuisse Faculty Bern in 2003, Simon worked for two years in Equine Practice in Switzerland before leaving to go to North America, where he completed an Internship in Large Animal Surgery and Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph (Canada) followed by a combined Residency in Equine Practice at Louisiana State University (USA) and Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital in Shepparton (Australia).

Simon joined the Equine Veterinary Hospital in January 2010. His particular areas of interest are equine stud medicine, with emphasis on the treatment of the sub-fertile mare and equine embryo transfer, and all aspects of performance horse medicine and lameness.

Simon is a Diplomate with the American College of Theriogenologists (ACT) and the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP).

Our first outing of 2011 is now under our belts, we took Taylor Twist to our local venue at Ardingly in February for a walk round and thanks to Kylie for handing and preparing her, she took it all in her stride.

The winter has been a busy one here, the stallion paddocks been posted and railed. We are now living very 'on site' preparing to build our new home!
