Welcome to Great Brockhamhurst StudWe are situated in the mole valley, deep in the heart of the surrey hills, just outside the village of Brockham, close to the towns of Reigate and Dorking. We are a family run stud based on Great Brockhamhurst Farm - a 250 acre arable farm - which predominately makes top quality hay and straw for the local equine community in the now ‘old fashioned’ small bales. Our aim is to offer British Breeders a great choice of top quality traditional Irish and English sires with a Touch of Colour too.. The right blend of both we believe produces wonderful horses with kind temperaments that can be safe riding horses, tough sound competition horses and beautiful show horses. Our Mare Artificial Insemination Centre enables us to also offer our facilities to mares visiting outside stallions. At the centre we provide you with the complete specialist service for AI with Fresh, Chilled or Frozen semen from Stallions throughout England and Europe. We have On Stud Semen Collection Facilties for our resident and visiting stallions. This enables us to collect semen from our stallions and send it direct from our stud to you – anywhere in the country.
THE MARE ARTIFICAL INSEMINATION CENTRE
You choose the stallion for your mare and we do the rest -There are (at least) 6 very good reasons to choose Artificial Insemination. IRISH DRAUGHT COLT RETENTION SCHEMEDue to the Irish Draught Horse being on the rare breeds list and the diminishing gene pool for these fantastic horses the Irish Horseboard has come up with the Irish Draught Colt Retention Scheme. The purpose of this scheme is to identify top class Irish Draught colts and provide an incentive to owners to retain these colts as prospective stallions. In order to be eligible for this scheme colt must be out of a mare that is classified as RID in the Irish Horse Register and be by an RID stallion or an ID stallion in Section 1 (S1) of the Irish Horse Register.

'Devastated' 'It is with deep regret we have just recieved news from devastated owners, Gerald and Stephine Towers of the Tidkin Stud of their recent and sudden loss of their promising 2 year old Filly 'Tidkin Fairytale' by Drumcross Spurs, along with their other filly' Spirit in the sky'. Fairytale was Drums first ever foal to arrive and for this reason had a very special place in our hearts, she had been winning local awards and had qualified for Chaps National Champs. Both filly's had been struck by lightening in their field in a freak storm. This is a very sad time for this family are hearts and thoughts are with you all.
