What they are saying about his youngstock :
‘A truly cracking foal, very correct and extremely well put together’ - Stephine and Gerald Towers
‘Just saw the colt, he is so smart. He has so much quality and that is paramount’ – Jane Morgan

‘Drumcross Spurs’ is a very neat, compact and correct horse with bone, substance and great character.

As a sire, he generally improves a mare having such superb confirmation, his youngsters are all very ‘well made’ with quality, bone and a good depth of girth and a great ‘rideable’ step.

He has a very balanced and relaxed attitude to life, which he passes on to his offspring and it is a testament to his good temperament and his ability that he combines both his stud and riding duties...

He is a very versatile stallion being an ideal cross for thoroughbred mares diluting the blood a little to produce a very easy trainable, potential competition horse and yet he also compliments a slightly ‘stronger’ mare refining her slightly to produce a very useful riding club horse.

He is also a very desirable sire for pony mares due to his size and he passes his beautiful coat markings to most!

Drum is a very fertile stallion with high conception rates, his semen is of an above average quality and it transports exceptionally well.

‘DRUMCROSS SPURS’ was bred by Con Stanley from Kells, Co Meath in 2002, from an unnamed Apache Warrior mare. (Apache Warrior stands at the Carrickatee Stud, co.Monaghan.)
‘Crossdrum Spurs’ is by Stetsen TB, and stands in Oldcastle, Co.Meath. He qualified for the Prestigous ‘Young Irelander’ Competition in his younger days and is a very reputable sire in Ireland for competition and riding horses with superb temperament.

2008

‘TIDKIN FAIRYTALE’ born 2006, left the farm for the first time in her life last Saturday and was entered in the open young stock class at Stokesley Show. She was an absolute angel to handle and in a class of 15 was placed 5th. She was the highest placed yearling and it was also noted that the 4 above her were all over 15 hands.

This filly qualified for the CHAPS National Champs 2008, but tragically died in early August due to a freak lightening strike.
