Dancer was ‘sourced’ in Ireland as a ‘suck’ foal at just 4 months old from his breeder. As all the finest tales of horse buying go, this, let me tell you was a bad day, with the wind blowing the driving rain across a boggy field, soaked to the skin within seconds of having leapt out of the car - for the umpteenth time and there he was with his mother and pal, dancing towards us showing off, his lightness of step and extravagant movement with that look at me ‘I am quite something’ expression, the rest as they say is history….
Having been one of the biggest fans of his grandsire ‘Cavalier Two For Joy’ by ‘Cavalier Royale’ it has taken quite a number of years to track down a colt special enough to remain a colt to stand at stud. In ‘Dance For Joy’ we have just that, he can boast in his pedigree some of the most Influential sires of our time. He is a combination of the most traditional and modern Irish bloodlines available.
His Sire is ‘Cavalier Jump for Joy’ a piebald, like his sire, and a very ‘Irish stallion’ with good bone, substance and a kind easy attitude. In his Dam we have the very finest breeding, she is by ‘Coille Mor Hill’ RID, who was a jumper himself, by the legendary sire ‘Clover Hill’. On her dams side she has the illustrious thoughbred ‘Delamain’.
This breeding has meant he is a very well put together horse with good bone, jump technique and terrific movement. He has the most genuine of temperaments and a kind eye. We are understandably proud to offer him for his is his first season standing at stud. |
